A complete doctor's office in one simple app.

Build a genuine, trusting relationship.

Virtual care can seem scary - but we make it feel just like an in-person encounter. Our primary care providers share one goal: to learn what makes you unique so they can guide you on your journey towards achieving and maintaining optimal health.

Hear it from a real patient.

Sloane's story (2 min)

One practice for all of your primary care needs.

Many telemedicine providers treat a single condition - ADHD, hair loss, sleep problems, blood pressure - but you and your health are more complex than any one issue.

At Circle Medical, as both an in-person and virtual Primary Care practice, we treat the whole patient. This means the next time you need to discuss any Primary Care-related issue, you’re already where you need to be.

Don't take our word for it.

We are trusted by over 50,000 patients every month. Here's what they have to say.

I have been extremely happy with the entire staff, always so willing to help me in any way from appointments to assistance with insurance. I have already suggested Circle Medical to my sister, who struggles with many of the same issues that I do.

Rhianna

Love the convenience and privacy!

Kim

Very easy process, my provider was thorough and understanding and efficient. Already recommended to my sister.

Jase

Awesome providers. They take time to actually listen to your symptoms and things you’re dealing with instead of pushing certain medications.

Maximillian

Wonderful care providers, lots of appointments available at convenient times, great technology to make it all work seamlessly.

Christian

Circle Medical has been great. I work in the digital health space and there are so many companies with poorly designed telehealth platforms that are staffed by unreliable providers. Circle's platform is so easy to use, the providers are kind and reliable, the support is responsive.

Jace

My provider is quite possibly the best most personable doctor I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with!

Clay

Very understanding!! And absolutely adore the chat portal, where I can express how I'm feeling!!! Thank you Circle Medical 🙏 This journey wouldn't be possible without y'all's help! ❤

Casey

My provider is the kindest person and she’s very patient and caring. She’s very helpful. The whole setup of Circle Medical is easy and efficient!

Tori

My provider has been really attentive. When I reached out for customer support on what I thought were side effects of a new medication, I received replies promptly.

Shelby

I put off my mental health for a long time. It took me a lot of courage just to click Book Appointment. It was so easy, the first appointment was great and constructive, The second was scheduled for 3 days later, and I got a treatment plan from my Mental Health Professional within hours.

Kyle

Easy to use app. The provider that I see is exceptional. You take my insurance so my cost is extremely affordable. Great customer service. Super easy to make an appointment. Many appointment time/day options. I have nothing but praise for Circle Medical. Thank you.

Nathalia

Extremely convenient! The provider I had was extremely empathetic, thorough, and listened. No more worrying about finding time to drive to the doctors.

Oliver

My interaction was one with care, and I was asked more questions into my “issues or problems.” It didn’t feel like I was talking to a typical doctor, but rather someone who was genuinely concerned with my problem.

Samantha

My provider is great. Answers all of my questions before our visit ends. I originally used Circle Medical because I couldn’t get an appointment with a provider in person, but because of my experience I decided to keep Circle as my primary care provider.

Thalia

The provider I spoke with was very knowledgeable and listened to me. She explained things well and made me comfortable.

Carolina

Circle has been great! They are cost-effective, efficient and get me the care I need with a busy schedule!

Brittany

Very practical, hours are very flexible which is convenient for those who have long work hours.

Eleanor

I am very happy with their service, especially after bad experiences with other companies. My provider is very helpful, attentive and genuinely seems to care. Medicine orders are quick and they do what they promise.

Seymour

Circle is the only part of the healthcare value chain that doesn't waste my time and money.

Patrick

I have had an excellent experience with Circle Medical and their staff. Everyone has been ready to answer my questions, and openly looks to help me with my needs.

Kennedy

Ease of use, flexibility with schedule, and the provider was informative on the medical issue while delivering care with a nonbiased approach.

Christopher

I felt like someone was finally listening and validating me. Other doctors treated me like I was seeking drugs and I couldn’t possibly have the problems or that they aren’t that bad and it’s my fault. Thank you so much for listening, asking me questions, and letting me answer.

Basil

I love how easy the app is to use and how Circle Medical makes healthcare accessible to everyone.

Kim

Convenient for a busy wife, mom, teacher, and grad student lifestyle. Helps me put my own health first.

Selina

Very compassionate and professional service with great follow-up.

Don

I appreciated the swift, clear assistance I got with Circle Medical. I liked that I could be evaluated and treated from home.

Aliza

It's easy to get an appointment. It's nice to be able to not have to sit in an office waiting to be seen. My provider makes me feel like she actually remembers me and I'm not just another folder slapped on her desk. It's very nice. She also discusses treatment with me instead of just throwing pills at me and saying do this or do that. I feel involved and in charge of my own health.

Louis

Virtual visits are far easier and more convenient. The scheduling process is top-tier and the medical staff is great.

Nathen

Circle Medical is a much more convenient way to see a doctor. No taking days off work, sitting around in waiting rooms or fighting traffic to make the appointment.

Lilianna

My provider is simply awesome and everything has been easy and simple from setting appointments and getting referrals. I’m very happy that I found Circle Medical.

Daphne

I get to decide my provider. Tons of appointments that are days away instead of weeks. Well-designed app. Medical/appointment notes are all in one location instead of spread around or buried in menus. Everything got done without any bumps or pushback or bs. I've never *ever* had such a painless experience.

Stacy

Scheduling was easy. Appointments started on time. I needed help with some preauthorization stuff for a prescription and the response time was quick and efficient via chat.

Messiah

My care provider is phenomenal and the ability to book appointments and complete them online is so convenient.

Dora

I really appreciate the personalized care. I live in a rural area where healthcare is hard to come by.

Baron

Very comfortable atmosphere, didn’t feel rushed. Was very impressed with the report after each visit. I have had several bad experiences prior to trying Circle, and honestly probably would have given up. Very happy so far.

Kendall

I love my provider. He is very thorough and is easy to get ahold of.

Kyle

Convenient, the app is easy to use and navigate, I love my provider. Our meetings are efficient, and she's been able to assist me with health-related issues outside of what I sought out the app for. I absolutely want to keep using Circle Medical for many years to come and have recommended it to friends and family.

Savion

I have had the most positive and uplifting experience with Circle Medical. My provider is absolutely wonderful! She listens and answers all questions with a kindness and compassion that just makes me feel heard and understood!

Ariel

The service is easy to use and my provider is amazing. I feel very comfortable and that she has an interest in my overall wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Do new patients need to prepare anything for their first appointment at Circle Medical?

For a detailed breakdown of what you need for your first appointment with Circle Medical, read the article below:

How to Prepare for Your First Appointment

Why would I choose a virtual telemedicine appointment over going to my doctor’s office?

With Circle Medical, you don't have to. We have flagship clinics in San Francisco, Beverly Hills, and New York City, with more coming soon, and offer limited in-person clinic availability for our established ADHD patients at 24 shared clinic locations.

Virtual appointments allow our patients to see their providers in the comfort of their own homes, without the hassle of travel, finding parking, or taking time off of work. Our providers are also able to offer more flexible hours beyond what in-person doctor’s offices provide.

What if I need in-person testing or examinations?

For virtual appointments, if any in-person care is needed, such as bloodwork, vaccinations, or other testing, our providers are able to send the appropriate request to a nearby lab. Results will be integrated with our HIPAA-compliant mobile app so that patients have access to all of their medical records in one secure place.

How much does this cost me?

For those with insurance, cost will depend on the specific type of care you receive and the coverage of your insurance plan. We provide a cost estimate based on each patient’s insurance plan when they book an appointment.

For those without insurance, we provide the self-pay costs of each appointment when a patient is booking their appointment.

What states do you operate in?

To see our list of currently available states, begin booking an appointment.

You must be currently residing in the state of treatment as well as have your primary pharmacy be in that same state in order to be a patient at our practice.

Behavioral Health

Am I seeing a psychiatrist through Circle?

Our ADHD providers are primary care providers (MDs/DOs, NPs, and PAs) who have received specialized training for ADHD intake. They are trained by psychiatrists to ensure a high standard of care, but they are not psychiatrists themselves.

Although it is a commonly accepted practice for many primary care providers to refer their patients to psychiatrists for ADHD diagnosis and treatment, primary care providers are actually also able to diagnose and treat mild to moderate forms of ADHD themselves. If you have mild to moderate ADHD, you can benefit from having your ADHD managed by your primary care provider at Circle while getting access to all of the general practitioner services you would find at your normal doctor's office.

More complex cases will require psychiatrists to diagnose. We encourage you to please read through this entire FAQ to make sure our practice is a good fit for your needs before you book a medical appointment with a provider.

Billing

How do I know how much my specific appointment will cost?

We provide a cost estimate when you are booking your appointment. For those with insurance, your actual cost is determined after we submit the insurance claim for your appointment. Once we submit the claim, insurance companies will pay for a portion of the appointment and pass on any remaining cost to you. Once we know what this cost is, we will update you with an invoice within the app.

When do I get charged for my appointment?

For those with insurance, it typically takes 1-3 weeks for the insurance claim to be processed. Once processed, we’ll send you an invoice within the app with any remaining costs. You can then opt to pay through the app, or we will automatically charge the payment card on file after 48 hours of sending you the invoice.

For those without insurance (or with out of network insurance), we will send you the invoice 1-2 days after your appointment is completed. You can then opt to pay through the app, or we will automatically charge the payment card on file after 48 hours of sending you the invoice.

Insurance

How long are the appointments?

The first intake appointment is 30 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 20 minutes each.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept over 1,500+ insurance plans. We cover most of the major PPO insurance companies (payors) across the United States. The best way to confirm coverage of your insurance plan is to begin booking an appointment on our website or via our mobile app. During the booking process, you’ll be prompted to enter your insurance information for a real-time verification of your insurance plan.

What if I am having issues verifying my insurance plan coverage?

The best way to confirm your insurance plan coverage is to call the Member Services phone number on the back of your insurance card. If needed, you can reference our Tax ID#: 474883537 and our NPI: 1134596091. Once you are able to confirm your coverage and your primary care copay costs, you can use the in-app chat to message our team with the information. We’ll then follow up with confirmation.

What is the total cost of diagnosis and treatment?

Your per-appointment costs are set by your insurance plan. If the costs seem high, you may be on a high deductible health plan (HDHP). This means that you have an annual out-of-pocket amount that you must pay on healthcare in a given year before your insurance plan will cover more of your per-appointment costs.

If you are on an HDHP and have confirmed your insurance information in our mobile app, your remaining deductible for the year will be displayed on the “Book Appointment” page. Note that this amount may be outdated if you have had recent insurance claims processed.

Frequently Asked

PrEP Treatment

Can anyone receive PrEP treatment through Circle Medical?

Yes, anyone who is 18+ and permanently resides in a state that we service is eligible for treatment through our practice.

What states do you operate in?

To see a list of states, please start booking an appointment. You will be able to select from a list of all of the states where we are currently practicing.

You must be currently residing in the state of treatment as well as have your primary pharmacy be in that same state in order to be a patient at our practice.

How do I know if PrEP is right for me?

We recommend booking a video appointment to speak with one of our experienced clinicians to get your questions answered. All of our clinicians are primary care practitioners, which means that they are experienced in providing care beyond prescribing PrEP.

Your clinician will be able to discuss your treatment options with you and answer any questions you may have, about PrEP or about any other health topic you may want to discuss in a safe environment.

How does lab testing work?

Your provider will be able to place a lab order to a lab near you to get bloodwork completed. Your results will be uploaded automatically to the app, where you can view and download them at any time.

Providers

What type of provider am I seeing through Circle Medical?

Our providers are primary care providers (MD's, DO's, NP's, and PA's) who have experience in providing gender-affirming care and behavioral health care. They are allies and proud members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We encourage you to read more about each provider on their profiles above!

Do I need to book my appointment with a doctor (MD or DO), or can I book my appointment with any provider (PA-C, NP, etc)?

You do not need to book your appointment with a doctor. You can book your appointment with any provider that we have available. Our providers all work closely together to make sure that we are providing the same excellent standard of care to all patients regardless of which provider you book your appointment with. The type of provider you book with will not limit the type of treatment or medications that you are able to be prescribed.

How long are the appointments?

The first intake appointment is 30 minutes. Follow-up appointments, if you have them, are 20 minutes each.

Billing

What is the total cost of PrEP and my treatment plan?

We accept most major PPO plans and we do not have any membership fees or ongoing membership requirements. The only cost that you have from our practice is the cost per appointment (see below for appointment cost estimates). During your appointment, you can discuss any health concerns you may have, whether related to PrEP or not.

Your other costs include the cost of the medication(s) at the pharmacy (we recommend using GoodRx coupons to lower this cost), and the cost of any lab work or hormone testing at the lab.

With Insurance

$5 - $50 average copay* 1st appointment
$5 - $50 average copay* 2nd appointment

$10 - $100* total, with $5 - $50* monthly follow-ups once stable.

*Note: Your specific copay is dependent on your health insurance coverage. We typically see patients with copays of around $0-$50 per appointment, but this can be higher if you have a high-deductible plan and have not yet hit your deductible this year. To confirm your specific copay estimate, you can click to book an appointment and you will be asked to input your insurance information so that you can receive your cost estimate before confirming the appointment.

Our ability to estimate your costs is dependent on your healthcare insurance's database, so we do not guarantee that the estimate you see is the exact amount you will be billed. For the most accurate estimate of your per-appointment costs, we recommend calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card to ask your insurance plan what your primary care appointment costs are.

Without Insurance (out of network or uninsured)

$100 per appointment

Your specific follow-up appointment timeline may vary depending on what your provider recommends.

Insurance

What insurance do you accept?

We contract with most PPO insurance plans. If you are a California Bay Area resident, we also work with a small number of HMO plans.

To verify if we work with your insurance, simply start booking an appointment online. You will be prompted to enter your insurance details and will receive eligibility results instantly as well as an estimate of your appointment cost prior to confirming your appointment.

Some PPO plans that we currently work with are:

Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Blue Shield of California, Cigna, Health Net, Humana, and United Healthcare.

Plans that we cannot work with are:

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide care for patients who have Medi-Cal or Medicaid insurance. This is because we are not licensed Medi-Cal or Medicaid providers, so we are not able to provide care, even if these patients choose to pay cash instead of use their insurance. If you have Medi-Cal or Medicaid, please do not book an appointment with us, as we will be unable to provide care even if you do not enter your insurance information. We apologize about this.

Other

What do I need to do to prepare for my first appointment?

After booking your first appointment, download the app and make sure that you are able to sign in. Confirm your appointment start time in the app (all times are in your phone's local time). No other actions are needed.

You will receive an in-app chat message 1-2 minutes before your appointment start time with the link to join your video appointment.

What happens after I am prescribed?

After you are prescribed medications, we will coordinate sending these prescriptions to your preferred pharmacy. We may have a mail-order prescription delivery service available; please ask your provider about this.

We will contact you via the in-app chat regarding ongoing refills and follow-up appointments. Your specific follow-up appointment cadence will be determined by your provider.

If you have questions at any time, please feel free to chat with your provider and care team via our secure app.

(2) Not always necessary, especially if your most recent lab work was within the past 3 months. Blood work requirements will be determined by your provider during the appointment. Costs will vary based on lab and blood work required.
