Circle Medical is proud to offer Myriad Genetics MyRisk with RiskScore at-home genetic testing.

The MyRisk with RiskScore genetic test, which can be completed at home using a saliva sample, evaluates 48 genes to help providers and patients understand their risk of developing 11 types of hereditary cancer, including breast cancer.

Eligible patients will be provided with a RiskScore which gives a personalized estimate of their five-year and remaining lifetime risk for developing breast cancer, guiding more confident decisions in managing their breast cancer risk.

MyRisk with RiskScore provides patients and providers with personalized guidance on how to reduce the risk of developing cancer, and how to take steps to detect it earlier.

How to Prepare for Your First Appointment

What can I expect during my appointment?

During your appointment, your Circle Medical provider will complete a full evaluation to assess for hereditary cancer genetic testing.

Can my genetic test ordering be completed via a video appointment from home?

Yes. After your Circle Medical provider has completed their evaluation, and has decided that a hereditary cancer genetic test is appropriate, the test will be ordered. Once ordered, the test will be mailed to you and will include instructions on how to complete the saliva test, as well as a pre-paid envelope for you to send the test back for analysis.

How soon will I receive my test?

Patients typically recieve their testing kit within 3-7 business days.

Can Circle Medical providers provide treatment or other medical services besides genetic testing?

Yes. At Circle Medical, all of our primary care providers are board-certified and are qualified to diagnose and treat a wide array of health conditions. See a full list here.

What if I need in-person testing or examinations?

If any in-person care is needed, such as bloodwork, vaccinations, or other testing, our providers are able to send the appropriate request to a nearby lab. Results will be integrated with our HIPAA-compliant mobile app so that patients have access to all of their medical records in one secure place.

Where do you provide services?

Note: As a patient, you must be physically present within the state your provider is actively licensed to practice medicine in at the time of service.

How long are the appointments?

The first intake appointment is 30 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 20 minutes each.

Billing

How do I know how much my specific appointment will cost?

For those with insurance, your final out-of-pocket costs are determined by your insurance. Once we submit the claim, insurance companies will pay for their portion of the appointment and pass on any remaining costs to you as noted in your policy. Once we know what this cost is, we will update you with an invoice within the app. If you are uninsured, you will be able to receive a cash-pay estimate in our mobile application.

When do I get charged for my appointment?

For those with insurance, it typically takes 1-3 weeks for the insurance claim to be processed. Once processed, we'll send you an invoice within the app with any remaining costs. You can then opt to pay through the app, or we will automatically charge the payment card on file after 48 hours of sending you the invoice.

For those without insurance (or with out of network insurance), we will send you the invoice 1-2 days after your appointment is completed. You can then opt to pay through the app, or we will automatically charge the payment card on file after 48 hours of sending you the invoice.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept over 1,500+ insurance plans. We cover most of the major PPO insurance companies (payors) across the United States. The best way to confirm coverage of your insurance plan is to begin booking an appointment on our website or via our mobile app. During the booking process, you'll be prompted to enter your insurance information for a real-time verification of your insurance plan.

We do not accept Medicaid or Medi-Cal at this time.

What if I am having issues verifying my insurance plan coverage?

Call the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm coverage. You can reference our NPI: 1134596091. For additional assistance, use our in-app chat to message our team.

What is the total cost of diagnosis and treatment?

Your per-appointment costs are set by your insurance plan. If the costs seem high, you may be on a high deductible health plan (HDHP). This means that you have an annual out-of-pocket amount that you must pay on healthcare in a given year before your insurance plan will cover more of your per-appointment costs.

If you are on an HDHP and have confirmed your insurance information in our mobile app, your remaining deductible for the year will be displayed on the “Book Appointment” page. Note that this amount may be outdated if you have had recent insurance claims processed.
